Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use assistive technology.
Our standard
The Mater Spei Care and Support website is designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In practice, that means you should be able to:
- navigate the whole site using a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus indicator;
- use a screen reader, with meaningful headings, landmarks, labels and image descriptions;
- zoom text to 200% and view the site on a small screen without losing content;
- read text with sufficient colour contrast against its background;
- turn off animation by enabling your device’s reduced-motion setting;
- complete our forms, with clear labels, instructions and error messages.
If something does not work for you
If you find part of the site hard to use, or need information in a different format such as large print or easy read, please tell us and we will help. You can email [email protected].
Continuing work
We test the site with automated tools and by hand, including keyboard-only use and screen readers, and review it whenever significant changes are made.
